This aggressive blur of vulgarity, drug abuse and sex contrasts starkly with traditional perception of Indian cinema. The typical opposition of the Hindi Bollywood with its cheerful songs versus the realism of the Bengali region with its social issues, becomes torn into pieces and piled up by the story of a rebel without a cause who finds an escape from the aimless suburban existence in rap rhymes and narcotic haze. Radical in style, the film ascends from the ground and explodes in the whirl of sensuous fantasy.
