Southcliffe is a four-part television drama from the Channel 4 depicting a series of shootings in the town of the same name and the tragic events preceding and following the tragedy. The dramatic narrative structure builds upon the American thriller scripts, British social drama, closed TV series communities, top British actors and in particular upon atmosphere of the locations and accurately constructed long camera sequences. Sean Durkin, screenwriter and director, graduated from the Tisch Art School of the NYU. He is the co-founder of the company Borderline Films. His debut Martha Marcy May Marlene in which elaborates the topic of his short Mary Last Seen (2010) was premiered at the Sundance festival in 2011 (Dramatic Directing Award) and in Cannes. Apart from directing, he also works as a film producer.
