Director Richard Linklater shot this coming-of-age story of an ordinary boy intermittently for twelve years. Young Mason is literally growing up right in front of our eyes and turns from a child into a young man ready to face life. The characters around him – sister and parents – also change. Along the way he passes lots of acquaintances and friends, conflicts and reconciliations with his sister and mother and other life crossroads we are all so familiar with.
