Double Play: A documentary portrait of the friendship between the renowned filmmakers James Benning (13 Lakes, 2004, Twenty Cigarettes, 2011; Stemple Pass, 2013) and Richard Linklater (Slacker, 1991; Before Midnight, 2013) that combines newly filmed conversations and extensive archival material to explore connections and divergences in their respective approaches to life and cinema.

Gabe Klinger has taught film studies at University of Illinois and Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois, and has worked in the motion picture departments at George Eastman House, MoMA in New York, and the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art at Northwestern University. Co-author of the book on Joe Dante, co-edited by Nil Baskar, published by the Austrian Filmmuseum and Slovenian Cinematheque in fall 2013. Double Play is his feature debute as a director.
