Cafe Babel

Café Babel takes place in a world where language has real power and a physical presence, and is the main instrument used by the world’s inhabitants. It shows one day in Café Babel, where Mishe, who has a unique disability – he can’t hear, see, or understand language – is the ultimate ‘other’. The differences between Mishe and the world become more stark and contrasted, until it is no longer clear who is normal and who anomalous.
