The Awards for the winning movies of the 8th Annual Fresh Film Fest
Tonight after 7 pm, Cinema Svetozor will host the Closing Gala Ceremony, where the best movies of the 8th Annual Fresh Film Fest will be awarded. The decision about who will take home one of the unique Fresh Film Fest Awards was in the hands of juries and - in case of the Audience Award - the visitors of this year's festival. At film festivals, film awards usually take the form of graceful statuettes. However, Daniel Pošta and Zdeněk Vacek designed a series of compotes for the Fresh Film Fest.
“We preserved fruit and tried to keep it in full feather without any marks of age so that it would be fresh forever,” say Pošta and Vacek in relation to the awards. They are also willing to share their production instructions: “Prepare six jars made from lead crystal. Clean them properly and disinfect them. Slice fruits and vegetables or cut them into various interesting shapes. There are no limits for your imagination. Place the exotic ingredients into the cylinders and pour your choice of 80 proof Czech liquor over them. Close the jars, leave them in the sun for two minutes, and they are ready for the award ceremony. Enjoy!”
At first sight, this seems to be a crazy idea. However, in the context of the Fresh Film Fest, if you perceive that these glass cylinders are manufactured in the Rückl Crystal glass factory in Nižbor, it is suddenly clear how they fit into the festival perfectly.
