Shooting Fresh Time with Star Presenters

The director of this year’s Fresh Time (festival seconds) is – already the second time – a young documentarian Martin Dušek, the co-author of the awarded film Poustevna, das ist Paradies or the latest Ženy SHR.

After the last year´s experiment with a robot-presenter, this year experienced film heroes such as Jean-Paul Belmondo or Krteček (Little Mole, famous Czech cartoon character) will present the Seconds because heroes are the topic of the Fresh Film Festival this year. “Characters adjusted by means of graphic design will be screened on various objects which are linked to the places where the Fresh Film Festival takes place this year,” says Dušek.

The star presenters will be dubbed by young Czech actors and if technicalities allow, various colourful filters will be used at projections – like for this year’s jingle. FAMU has offered a cutting room and a studio to the authors for free.

Regarding the preparation of the Fresh Time, the interviews with authors tend to be the most complex ones. “Often this has been their first experience before the camera and so they do not know how to behave,” says Dušek.

The staff aims at preparing such Fresh Time video, which will be informative even for those who are not at the festival just at the moment. You can watch the total of five series of Fresh Time on ČT or play them on the website of FFF. And it will sure be worth it, Dušek promises. “Our staff will be everywhere where there is something going on!”
