Petra Hůlová (1979, Czech Republic)
Studied Culturology and Mongolian Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague. Went on scholarships to Mongolia, the USA, Germany, Belgium, Austria and Bulgaria. She wrote several novels that were published by the Torst publishing house: Paměť mojí babičce (2002), Přes matný sklo (2004), Cirkus Les Mémoires (2005), Umělohmotný třípokoj (2006), Stanice Tajga (2008), Strážci občanského dobra (2010). Her works have been translated into seven languages. She also won several awards: Magnesia Litera, Jiří Orten Prize and Josef Škvorecký Award. Her book Paměť mojí babičce has been adapted into a script and is going to be made into the film.
