Help the Gorillas
A sealed collection box of Rema System, a non-profit organization, will be placed at five festival venues (Palác Akropolis, Aero cinema, Světozor cinema, Ponec theater, open-air cinema Střelák).
By donating your old mobile phone you can help save the population of Lowland Gorillas. For every mobile phone donated during Fresh Film Fest, Rema System will make a contribution that will help purchase necessary equipment for the Dja Wildlife Reserve rangers inCameroon. A similar collection is taking place at fifteen ZOOs in the Czech Republic.
Lowland Gorillas are threatened by the mining of coltan used in mobile phones and other electronic equipment. Coltan mining destroys rainforests inhabited by the gorillas and the growing population of people in the remote areas leads to increased poaching. Providing the park rangers with better equipment and recycling coltan contained in mobile phones goes a long way in saving the gorillas. See www.remasystem.cz for more information.
