Cinergy Skype with Joachim Trier

The next focus of Cinergy will be the Norwegian director Joachim Trier. Author of the acclaimed films Reprise, Oslo, 31. August and Louder than Bombs, is currently receiving international praise for Thelma.

Supernatural thriller about a young student who explores her sexuality, independence and terrifying powers. Overview of Joachim Trier’s work will be presented, followed by a screening of Thelma. After the screening a skype Q&A with the director himself will be conducted. The film will be screened with Czech and English subtitles, the Q&A will be conducted in English. Journalist Ian Willoughby will conduct the interview and present Trier's work during the introduction.

Joachim Trier was born in Copenhagen and is a graduate of the National Film and Television School in England. He has made several acclaimed short films, including PIETA (1999), STILL (2001) and PROCTER (2002). His feature debut, REPRISE (2006), had its North American premiere at Toronto IFF, where it won the Discovery Prize. It received also festival prizes in Istanbul, Rotterdam, Milano and Karlovy Vary. His second feature, OSLO, AUGUST 31ST (2011) premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival and is one of three films on the Norwegian shortlist for submissions to the 84th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. His third feature, LOUDER THAN BOMBS was in competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2015.
