Fresh Film Fest 2006

Fresh Film Fest 2006 ran from August 31 through September 3 in Karlovy Vary. "Behind the Fence" by Polish director Marcin Sauter from Andrzej Wajda Masterschool Warsaw has been awarded as the Best Film of the Festival. The Theatre Optique Award has been given to Belle Mellor for her film "Sleep With the Fishes". The title has been produced by UK's Royal College of the Arts.

Zohara is the member of a separated troop of the Israeli Army. She is to be transferred soon and another woman comes to fill her position. Zohara's hopes for a new future fade as her mentally unstable successor is unable to carry the psychological pressure of the new environment.

Pine scent spreads immediately in the bathroom, the water rippled by the stream coming out of the tap produces bizarre, fluffy shapes. Vincent blissfully sinks among the bathroom pillows. In the last moment, he is able to switch on his radio on the creaky little table with a dry hand. It is high time.
