Master class: Jody Lee Lipes

Martha Marcy May Marlene was awarded at Sundance Festival last year and got a great recognition. At Fresh Film Fest, we will screen this film and its cinematographer Jody Lee Lipes will be one of the members of the Fresh Generation jury and give us also the film lesson.

His first feature length screenplay Confederacy was selected for the 2012 Sundance Directors Lab. His directing credits include season one of HBO’s Girls, Primetime Emmy nominee for Best Comedy Series 2012; NY Export: Opus Jazz, a scripted adaptation of a Jerome Robbins’ ballet that aired on PBS and won an Audience Award at SxSW 2010; and verite documentary Brock Enright: Good Times Will Never Be the Same, SxSW 2009. Lipes is also an Independent Spirit Award-nominated DOP, credits include Martha Marcy May Marlene, Tiny Furniture, and Afterschool.
