Cinergy with Götz Spielmann

Götz Spielmann is coming to Prague to present his film Revanche within the program TOP 10 of this year´s Das FilmFest. On this occasion Cinergy organizes a masterclass whose aim will be to insight into the directing style and screenwriting process of the filmmaker who ranks alongside Michael Haneke and Ulrich Seidl.

Götz Spielmann is coming to Prague to present his FILM REVANCHE (2008) within the program TOP 10 of this year´s Das FilmFest. Prior to the Master Class is possible to watch the film with English subtitles ON FRIDAY 23.10. AT 5:30 AT FAMU (Regular screening of the film within the festival is Saturday 24th, 6pm, Lucerna).

Götz Spielmann (b. 1961, Vienna) received his first awards for his films in the 1980s while studying at the Vienna Film Academy. After his film The Neighbour (Der Nachbar) won a number prizes at the San Sebastian film festival in 1991, Spielmann went silent for several years. His return to filmmaking met with tremendous success, however – both The Stranger (Die Fremde, 1999), and the controversial, sexually explicit drama Antares (2004) were Austrian nominees for the Oscar. Revanche is the first film that Götz Spielmann has made through his own independent production company, Spielmannfilm.

The aim of this masterclass is not just to extend the horizons in the context of contemporary Austrian cinema but also to insight into the directing style and screenwriting process of the filmmaker Götz Spielmann who ranks alongside Michael Haneke and Ulrich Seidl.
