Film critic and historian Fabien Gaffez has in 2012 replaced Jean-Pierre Garcia as the artistic director of the French International Festival Film d'Amiens. Since 2009, he has been a member of the council which selects films for the International Critics’ Week of the Cannes Film Festival. He regularly contributes to the respected film magazine “Positif” and his reviews and analyses are published in a number of other culture magazines. He has written a number of books about film.
